b) Codes of Conduct – refers to the ethical behaviour in our workplaces and is not necessarily part of an employment contract. If it is contractual, the dismissal must be compliant with the procedure. For example, a recent employee could make an unfair dismissal claim against an employer, but all employees can make a breach of contract claim from day one of their service. c) Retirement-aged employees (65+) – An employer must give a written notice of the intended retirement date 6 to 12 months before, with the opportunity to make a request to work beyond that date.
